How Our Marketplace Works

Seller-Intent Listings: Sellers list inscriptions with a price, signaling intent to sell. No assets are locked or held by the platform.
Buyer-Initiated, Seller-Finalized Trades: Buyers create and sign the full PSBT transaction (including payment and fee), then submit it for the seller to review and sign. The seller's signature completes the trade and triggers the on-chain transfer.
Bid Support: Buyers can also submit bids (offers) for any inscription, even if not listed. Sellers can approve or decline bids with a single signature.
Security & Transparency: All trades are non-custodial, atomic, and auditable. No funds or inscriptions are ever held by the platform.
Developer Friendly: Clean, well-documented API. Full Swagger and ReDoc docs. Modern codebase. Easy to extend and integrate.

Why This Model?

Unlike traditional "buyer-finalizes" marketplaces, The Lonely Bit Project uses a seller-finalize flow. This means sellers always have the final say, reducing risk of accidental or malicious transfers. Buyers can't force a sale; sellers must sign to complete. This model is more secure, transparent, and aligns incentives for both parties.

Our bid system is robust and atomic—buyers can make offers on any inscription, and sellers can approve with a single signature. This is the same trustless, non-custodial approach used by the best Ordinals protocols.
